As solar projects continue to scale across Europe, ensuring the long-term reliability of cable systems has become increasingly important. At The Intersolar Europe 2026 in Munich, KUKA Cable shared how material innovation and comprehensive quality verification are helping address the evolving requirements of the renewable energy industry.

During the exhibition, KUKA Cable presented its latest solar cable solutions and discussed key trends shaping the market. The company noted that higher system voltages, longer asset lifetimes and increasingly demanding installation environments are placing greater expectations on cable performance.

COO Jackie Wang explained that while industry standards remain an essential benchmark, long-term operational reliability increasingly depends on the quality of materials and manufacturing processes behind the product.

"As solar installations become more complex, issues such as insulation ageing, overheating and DC-side failures highlight the importance of selecting high-quality materials and maintaining consistent manufacturing standards," Wang said.

Tony Si, Co-Founder of KUKA Cable, added that customers across Europe are paying closer attention to verified product performance rather than certifications alone. Features including waterproof capability, resistance to rodent damage and durability in harsh outdoor conditions have become important considerations for many solar projects.

To support these requirements, KUKA Cable has continued investing in its in-house testing capabilities. The company introduced its SIF quality management framework, which integrates material selection, manufacturing, laboratory testing and product verification to improve quality consistency and provide greater confidence in long-term cable performance.
